With my DW the low grains slugs work the best the 40 gr and up do work . But to me the higher grains hits like a 45 APC hits hard but has a low velocity. The 26.8 to the 38.5 are very very accurate up to 100 yrs that is as far I took it. And out to at 60 to 65 yrs I can hit quarters all day long and if I spent more time with my DW  tuning it up I might be able to hit dimes . But as of now quarters works just fine for me.
